9 Delightful Blogging Courses to Enroll in 2021 (Including Three Free Courses)

Best blogging courses

Blogging is a gold mine now, thanks to the internet revolution that has made the world a global village. 10% of the USA population are bloggers, with 77% of internet users reading blogs every day.

If you want to join the blogging bandwagon, this is a perfect time.

But you need to start somewhere. And that would be taking the best blogging course that fits your budget and gives you the right information to kickstart your blogging career.

No doubt that there are thousands of blogging courses all over the internet today. What makes it worse is that most of the courses aren’t from accomplished bloggers.

The internet is not only a goldmine but also a jungled mess with all kinds of filth.  It’s full of people that’ll take advantage of your misinformation to mint money from you.

Research by Scamwatch records that 22 million dollars have been lost through scams from the beginning of 2021 to the time of writing this guide. What is surprising is that this comes from only 19800 reported cases.

Source: Scamwatch

These scammers jam-pack video tutorials from YouTube and sell them to unexpecting buyers for hundreds of dollars.

So how do you separate the wheat from the chaff?

Good thing I spent several hours scouring the farthest corners of the internet to get the best blogging courses.

These courses will, among other things:

  • Help you achieve your goals.

  • Uncover the secret tactics to grow your blog.

  • Break down technical stuff that you can quickly assimilate.

The exciting thing is that not all the courses are paid for courses. Three are actually free. And you know what? Free doesn’t necessarily mean low quality.

Of course, there is no need to take a course to start a blog, an in-depth guide on how to start a blog is usually large enough.

Before we delve into the meat of this guide, I’d like to give you a few requirements before taking these courses:

• You’re Ready to Invest Your Time and Money

“Every penny NOT spent on investing in yourself (after basic needs of course) may be a wasted future opportunity from missing learns and connects.”
― Richie Norton

Blogging is a harsh industry. Don’t let anyone lie to you.

Why so? Many people are becoming wary of it, causing stiff competition. You must be unique in every way to stand above the crowd.

It can take up to a year before you earn a single cent from your blog.

Monetary investing will be in the form of blogging courses and site creation. These include themes, hosting, plugins, and website designers.

You’ll also need to invest hundreds of hours of your time before you start seeing results. Monique Solomon of blogwithmo asked a few bloggers how long they took before they made their first dollars.

Most bloggers said that you need to wait for at least six months if you’re willing to invest 40 hours every week on your blog.

So brace yourself; this will be a long bumpy ride (but it’s worth, it I promise).

• You Must Have Passion

Created with Sketch.
"Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow."
-Anthony J. D'Angelo

Passion is rocket fuel to your dream. It will be of no use to invest hundreds of dollars on a blogging course if you don’t love blogging in the first place.

Before you pull out your wallet, identify the niche you’re passionate about. This will help you identify your audience.

You’ll be able to create content that targets their pain points and impacts them positively.

• You Must Be Good at Writing, unless….

You don’t leave a blog as empty as the Sahara desert after creating it. Fresh and compelling content is what attracts readers.

It’s through these articles that you’ll make money as an affiliate marketer. I’ve talked about 100 plus affiliate programs you can enroll in as a newbie blogger. Check it out.

Too bad that most of the blogging courses don’t teach much about writing blog posts.

“But I learned writing from school.”

Technically, you’re right, but still wrong contextually. Creating blog posts isn’t the same as writing your academic essays.

Blog articles have different structures and formats. SEO knowledge and content formatting to become a fully baked blogger is also advised.

Obviously, you’re at liberty to hire freelance writers if you have the budget.

• Be Ready to Connect With Many People

There’s one thing that blogging has done very well: bringing different people together from all walks of life.

There’s no “I” in blogging (ok there’s one, but you get my point). You must get used to connecting and meeting people.

The more you connect, the more you get traffic to your blog, and the more money you’ll be making.

Still with me? Great.

One more thing before we check the nine best blogging courses. I’ll give you a glimpse of what a great blogging course should look like.

  • Video tutorials are recommended. I personally prefer it.

  • The course must really dissect the process of attracting readers, which is the real thing in blogging.

  • The courses must teach you at least the basics of SEO.

  • The course shouldn’t cost top-dollar unless it’s a top-tier course for advanced bloggers. Ideally, it shouldn’t go above $400 for a beginner.

Now, here are the 9 Best blogging courses to take in 2021. I’ll update this article in the future as I uncover more blogging courses that pass my selection process.

What Are The Best Blogging Courses Online?

1. Built to Blog: Getting your First 10,000 Readers and Generating a six-figure Blogging Income. (Best Overall)

Built to blog is one of my favorite blogging courses as it’s explicit, leaving no stone unturned. It will take you through;

  • The mechanic of setting up a blog.

  • Strategies that drive traffic.

  • How to write compelling content.

  • How to monetize your readership.

  • How to transform your blog into a real business.

The man behind this top tier course is Ryan Robinson, my favorite blogger, and role model.

Who is Ryan Robinson?

Source: Ryrob

Ryan describes himself as a blogger, podcaster, and side project aficionado. While in college, he started a business that went down after a few months plunging him with $6500 in losses.

He then started his blog as a side-hustle when working as a content marketer for startups after finishing college. He got an opportunity to work for CreativeLive where he learned affiliate marketing.

At this time, he was facing the same challenges beginner bloggers face like;

  • Getting traffic.

  • How to increase conversion rates.

  • How to better promote a product and give readers the reason to click an affiliate link.

  • How to create high-quality long-form content that benefits readers.

6 years down the line, Ryan has cracked the code. He was already making between $10,000 $20,000 per month before he delved into full-time blogging in 2019.

Currently, he comfortably makes between $30,000 and $50,000 per month with website traffic reaching up to 500,000 per month.

Inside His Course

In the course, Ryan gives you 8 hours of video lecture, 15,000 words of written content, and 6 hours of interviews with accomplished bloggers. (And yes, Jon Morrow is among the top bloggers you’ll see).

For $297, this is very economical. Trust me; you won’t get such a deal anywhere else.

He’ll teach you the same strategy he used to pull in over 500k monthly readers and hit five figures in monthly revenue.

These include;

  • Setting up your blog

  • How to name your blog

  • Picking a niche

  • Choosing a domain

  • Installing the right plugins.

The second section teaches you the exact systems that drive traffic to a blog. You’ll learn about the consistent SEO strategy that has always worked for Ryan.

The last step is what you want to know about. That’s how to monetize a blog. Ryan explains it all: from teaching you the right affiliate programs for newbie bloggers, how to do sponsored posts, all the way up to launching digital products.

That’s not all. You also get access to free templates. These include the blog post outline that brings him a massive number of readers and social shares.

You’ll receive the step-by-step game plan to take action on your blogging career. It reveals the most straightforward route to building a profitable blog that will help you live the American dream and the pitfalls to avoid as a beginner.

2. Blog Traffic Blueprint by Jon Morrow (Best for Intermediate Bloggers)

Everyone in the blogging industry knows Jon Morrow. He’s the only writer that can type up to 10,000 words per day without using his hands. Yes, you read that right.

Jon has suffered from Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) since he was a young boy.  The disease has left him paralyzed. The only part he can move – wait for it – are his lips and eyes.

Nevertheless, the guy went ahead and wrote epic articles read by over 6 million people using speech recognition technology.

Jon is a celebrated blogger and mastermind behind huge blogs, including smartblogger (initially boost blog traffic) and unstoppable.

Smartblogger alone nets him slightly over $1 million every year. This is hard to believe, but it’s true.

As one of the most renowned bloggers today, Jon Morrow is the guy to look for if you’ve hit rock-bottom with your blog. If he can make it, so can you.

  • The mechanic of setting up a blog.

  • Strategies that drive traffic.

  • How to write compelling content.

  • How to monetize your readership.

  • How to transform your blog into a real business.

What’s Inside the Blog Traffic Blueprint?

The blog traffic course is meant to answer the question most newbie bloggers ask – how to drive traffic to their blogs.

In blogging, there isn’t a strategy that works for everyone. For example, social media traffic can work for me but not for you. Your forte may be SEO for organic traffic.

Jon won’t give you one strategy. He tackles five of them, backed up with real-world examples. He breaks down the strategies in 26 video lessons. These include;

  • The Mafia Method

  • The rocky technique

  • The fan base formula

  • The infiltration game

  • The traffic shortcut

And it doesn’t stop there. Jon will show you where the strategies work and where they won’t. With all the top-tier strategies, the odds are that one of them must work in your situation.

You don’t need all of them. You just need one right strategy. After getting your compatible system in place, the smartest move is to run with it till your blog becomes successful.

I highly recommend this course for beginners. Trust me; the payoff can be huge if you take the risk. The only downside is that it doesn’t come cheap, costing $497.

That’s why the course is not for everyone. But if you can afford it, take it and run with it.

3. Launch Your Blog Biz by Create and Go (Best for Beginners)

Did you know that 59% of people who started a blog abandoned it? Blog tyrant did a chilling post that 99% of blogs would fail in 2018.

I’m not sure if the prediction came true. However, all this reminds us that blogging is a tough industry.

Millionaire bloggers Alex Nerney and Lauren McManus faced this ordeal with their first blog.

Lauren says that they had no idea what they were doing when they started their blog. And what happened? It failed spectacularly! (In Lauren’s word, not mine).

It was rough, but they didn’t give up. This failure was a learning opportunity to avoid similar mistakes when launching their second and third blogs, which became huge successes.

The mistakes you’re likely to make as a new blogger include;

  • Wasting your money on the wrong things.

  • Not learning technical stuff like WordPress and Themes.

  • Writing blog posts that people don’t want to read.

  • Taking advice from every wannabe “gurus” you find on YouTube.

They’ll teach you the right strategies they used to create blogs like theirs that are now making six figures in monthly revenue. Check out their income reports.

The course will teach you how to start a blog the right way. No prior blogging knowledge is required. Among other things, you’ll learn;

  • How to work with WordPress and design a gorgeous blog.

  • How to create content that people will love.

  • How to drive tons of readers to your blog for free.

  • How to make your first $1000 per month through affiliate marketing.

  • How to build an email list of raving fans.

  • How to make money using ads, sponsored posts, and guest posts.

For all these and more, you’ll pay $297, which is an affordable amount to invest in a top tire blogging course.

4. How to Monetize a Blog - Udemy Blogging Free Course (Most Taken Course for New Bloggers)

I’ve studied most bloggers and the first amount of money they make from blogging is always a big deal. Lauren and Alex of Create and Go were so thrilled when they made their first 172$.

It shows you that this whole blogging thing isn’t a scam.

However, 81% of bloggers have never made even $100 from their blogs. The keyword “how to monetize a blog” is one of the most searched keywords on Google with up to 1900 searches per month.

Source: Ubersuggest

In short, millions of bloggers are stranded.

So, is the feeling that investing a lot of your money on training will disappear into thin air actually true? Well, it is if you believe the naysayers.

I highly recommend How to monetize a blog course from Udemy if you’ve never made any amount as a blogger.

Your instructor is Dave Hamrick, a mega entrepreneur, professional writer, and marketing expert. He owns multiple online businesses, software companies, and blogs.

Trust me, this guy is talented, and he’ll unpack loads of knowledge to help you make real online income.

You don’t have to spend any money as it’s a free blogging course. And no worries, it’s not a junky course that teaches common knowledge you can get on YouTube. Over 8000 students have taken it and say they learned valuable tips.

It starts by teaching you blogging basics before diving deeper into more advanced blog monetization strategies.

The course has 18 lectures, for a total of 3.5 hours. You’ll learn:

  • How to set up a blog.

  • How to write epic blog posts that make money.

  • How to set up an Amazon Associates account.

  • What is affiliate marketing, and how to do it.

Hurray, halfway through, remains exciting information to research, have not landed on a niche yet...ok, I got to the end and it’s definitely more complicated than writing a blog, the pieces are falling together and I’m now ready for a protein shake and starting to blog. Great experience from a master!”

“Dave is such a relatable person. His style of teaching is so positive that you feel his energy and can't help but laugh along with him. It's not hard to absorb everything he is teaching. Love it!

5. SEO Made Simple - Free Blogging Course For New Bloggers (Best SEO course)

How do you make Google love your blog? It’s by optimizing your content using SEO.

SEO is one of the most misinterpreted terms on the internet as everybody has his/her own experience. Plus, Google occasionally changes its algorithms.

But the rule of thumb is that it’s the best way to (organically) send thousands of readers to your blog.

A study by Hubspot records that about 64% of marketers actively invest time in search engine optimization to grow their traffic.

One fat lie that has been spreading like bushfire is that you just have to jampack keywords in your articles to get the coveted first-page ranking.

SEO doesn’t work like this!

That’s the primary purpose of the “SEO made simple” free blogging course. It takes away the myths and teaches you the real SEO strategies to boost your blog up the search engine rankings.

Your instructor is Chelsea Clarke, a business strategist, and content creator. She has a lot of experience in helping entrepreneurs and bloggers make more money with their businesses.

As said earlier, SEO is not just about stuffing keywords in your content. Chelsea will actually teach you SEO strategies that complete the puzzle.

They include:

  • Understanding keywords.

  • How to do keyword research.

  • How to outrank your competitors as a new blogger.

  • How to do an SEO audit for your blog for free.

  • SEO best practices to make Google fall in love with your site.

One last thing is that the course goes above just blogging. You can use the knowledge you get here to become an SEO expert and sell your service. Good thing is that SEO experts are in demand.

8. Affiliate Marketing for Bloggers (Best for New Affiliates)

Affiliate marketing is the easiest way to make (good) money as a blogger.

It’s simple. You attach links to the products you’re promoting and make a commission for every purchase that happens through the link.

If you’ve been browsing for the best affiliate marketing courses for bloggers, then you must have come across making sense of affiliate marketing by Michelle Schroeder. It’s a top-rated course for bloggers with a lot of positive reviews.

The only critic I have with it is that it’s very costly. Remember, you don’t have to spend a lot of money as a newbie blogger. The course costs a whopping $197, yet it teaches one part of blogging.

In its place, I’ll recommend affiliate marketing for bloggers course, which only goes for $79.

The course will take you through the basics of affiliate marketing and the numerous terminologies new to you.

You’ll also get the answer to a question you’re likely asking yourself now. “Does every niche can make money with affiliate marketing?”

Carly, your instructor will show you if you can, and if so, how much.

Among other things, you’ll learn;

• The Four Types of Affiliate Marketing

This is according to Carly. She shows the right type of affiliate marketing to pursue depending on your blog’s niche.

• How to Write Blog Posts That Make Sales

In blogging, there’re two kinds of posts; traffic posts and money posts. You’ll learn how to write both of them, when, and how often.

Once you’ve grasped this, you get another nugget, which Carly calls the secret sauce of selling using your blog posts.

Lastly, she will show you fun tricks to make your links stand out and where to place them in your posts.

• How to Write Epic Emails

Carly made a whopping $5000 in one single product launch using her mailing list. She’ll show you the exact steps she took and add more tips on growing your email list.

"Carly's affiliate marketing course is gold! Primarily because she breaks it down in an easy to understand and easy to implement way. She talks to you like a real person through the course and because of that it is really clear. This course is so easy to understand and the tools you learn are so effective!”

"I’ve taken 8 affiliate marketing courses, and Carly’s was my favorite. I got so many tips that I didn’t find in courses that cost twice as much. Carly had specific tips and hacks that no one else has. She gives specific examples for both email marketing and article marketing. After I took this course, my affiliate earning accelerated. I now usually earn $14,000-$16,000 per month just on affiliate marketing (and occasionally more)."

• Can you get the same content in a paid-blogging course elsewhere for free?

This is a dilemma that a lot of beginners face. One side of your brain is telling you that investing in a paid course is a waste of money as you can find the same content on Youtube.

Your other side is screaming to pull out your wallet for the course. It’s your only way to financial freedom.

I get it. It’s a tough decision to make.

Now, google exists for a reason. You can get the same content anywhere on the net if you can survive the hassle of searching for it. But there’s a catch.

One is that you won’t know if the free content is good unless you go through it. Two, you’ll have to go through many courses to get what you want.

The decisive argument why paid courses are favorable is that the instructors are there to help in real-time. Most free blogging courses I’ve come across never provide real-time help.

• Do you need to spend more money on blogging courses?

Not really.

There are three blogging levels; beginners, intermediate, and advanced bloggers. Most courses fall on beginner level bloggers.

They teach basic blogging stuff like identifying your niche, naming a blog, creating and designing a blog.

Intermediate and advanced level blogging courses go a little bit deeper. They are for bloggers who’ve been blogging for at least a year.

Such courses mainly deal with growing your blog traffic. They’re expensive but will teach you specific strategies to continually grow your blog in the right direction.

Determine your level in blogging before you purchase a course. There’s no need to buy an advanced SEO course while you’ve not even mastered the art of creating killer blog posts.

• Is your success sealed after taking a blogging course?

Let me ask you another question. Did you become a millionaire by finishing your education at the college level? Not really.

What will seal your success after completing a blogging course is the work you put in after. You have to implement what you’ve learned to start seeing results. And it’s not a one-night thing.

• Should you check the person teaching the course?

There’re so many “internet gurus” today that make vast amounts of money by doing nothing.

I once heard someone asking a question on how he could sell his ebook.

Guess what the title of the book was: “how to write an ebook that sells by itself.” I thought to myself: “why don’t you read your book to get ideas?”

It’s a big deal to take a blogging course from someone you know and trust. But it’s not a must for a teacher to be an influencer in the blogging industry.

The blogging courses I’ve shared with you are from people you probably don’t know except maybe Jon Morrow and Ryan Robinson.

Before choosing a course, subscribe to their mailing list, get to know them, and you’ll know if you connect with their content.

Final Takeaway

The search for the best blogging course never comes to an end. New courses are coming up every day with unique and enriching information. It’s, therefore, an uphill battle making a decision.

When it comes to this, I give one piece of advice.

Blogging is a long-haul game. It’s not certain you’ll start making money in your first month.

With that in mind, It’s vital that you invest in a blogging course that will take you by the hand and show you the steps at your own pace until your blog becomes a success.

Do you have any suggestions for a blogging course you loved? I’d love to hear more about it in the comment section.
